(The Joy of Heaven)
Luca 15:8-10
“Hay là, có người đàn bà nào có mười đồng bạc, mất một đồng, mà không thắp đèn, quét nhà, kiếm kỹ càng cho kỳ được sao? 9 Khi tìm được rồi, gọi bầu bạn và người lân cận mình, mà rằng: Hãy chung vui với ta, vì ta đã tìm được đồng bạc bị mất. 10 Ta nói cùng các ngươi, trước mặt thiên sứ của Đức Chúa Trời cũng như vậy, sẽ mừng rỡ cho một kẻ có tội ăn năn.”
(“Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
I. Lost
> Have you lost anything that was very valuable to you? (Bạn có bao giờ đánh mất một vật gì rất quí gía trong đời chưa?)
# May be a diamond ring, a car key, a bag of cash, your Visa card, your Iphone, or your kid… (Có thể là chiếc nhẫn cưới, chìa khóa xe, tuí tiền, thẻ Visa, máy Iphone, hay chính con cái của mình…)
> What did you do to find it? (Bạn đã cố gắng làm gì để tìm lại được vật đó?)
> Were you procrastinated? (Bạn đã có trễ nãi hay trì hoãn trong công việc tìm vật quí này không?)
> What price and effort were you willing to pay to have back the precious thing you lost? (Bạn có sẵn sàng trả mọi gía, để chuộc lại vật quí thuộc của mình không?)
# I remember when C/T Viet family first came to Baton Rouge, living in Tracy area; one evening, they could not find Tan, their only son.
# The whole subdivision was informed and everyone tried to help searching for him, even some of the firemen were there because we called 911.
# Finally, we found him sleeping inside a coffee table (bàn nhỏ) right in the middle of the living room.
# Chi Viet face looked very worried, because this was not about losing 10 or 20$, but her only son.
> What about your soul? Are you lost? Do you recognize your spiritual lostness? (Còn phần linh hồn của bạn thì sao? Bạn có đang đánh mất không? Bạn có nhận biết sự hư mất của linh hồn mình không?)
# You may say: “What do you mean? I am ok. I am not lost!” (Bạn có thể tự nghĩ: “Tôi có mất gì đâu, có lầm lạc chi đâu mà phải lo lắng?”)
> If you said you are not lost, let me ask you 2 basic questions: Where were you come from? And where will you go into eternity? (Nếu bạn chưa nhận biết điều này thì xin phép cho tôi hỏi bạn 2 câu hỏi rất căn bản: Bạn có biết mình từ đâu đến, và bạn có biết mình sẽ đi về đâu đời đời không?)
> If you cannot answer these two basic questions about the origin and eternity then mankind is really lost… and we all need to be found. (Nếu bạn không thể trả lời được nguồn gốc loài người từ đâu đến và con người sẽ đi về đâu đời đời, thì thật c/ta đang bị lầm lạc mà cần câu trả lời, cần một lối thoát cho sự hư mất của mình, phải không?)
II. God – The Creator
> To be found, we must not just accept our lostness condition, but we must also recognize that there is a great Creator, Who created everything in the beginning. (Để tìm được lối thoát, câu trả lời, c/ta không phải chỉ nhận biết tình trạng hư mất của mình mà thôi, nhưng còn phải nhận biết có một Đấng Tạo Hóa chí cao, đã dựng nên muôn loài, muôn vật và danh của Ngài là Đức Chúa Trời.)
# One of the most basic and important verses in the Bible is Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Một trong những câu Kinh Thánh căn bản và quan trọng nhất là Sáng Thế Ký 1:1 – “Ban đầu Đức Chúa Trời dựng nên trời đất.”)
> This verse helps us to understand that everything starts from God, begins with God, the Great Creator. (Câu Kinh Thánh này giúp c/ta biết mọi sự đều bắt đầu từ Chúa, Đấng Tạo Hóa quyền năng.)
> And because God loves us, He created mankind in His own image and we all belong to Him from the beginning. (Ngài là Đấng yêu thương c/ta nên dựng loài người lên giống hình ảnh của chính Chúa; c/ta thuộc trọn của Ngài từ lúc ban đầu.)
> But the first two persons, Adam & Eve sinned, they were separated from God, casted out of the garden and the whole human race got lost from that time. (Nhưng tổ phụ của loài người từ lúc ban đầu đã phạm tội, và bị phân rẽ ra khỏi sự hiện diện của Chúa Thánh Khiết, bị đuổi ra khỏi vườn sự sống và từ đó dòng dõi loài người bị lầm lạc và trên con đường dẫn đến sự hư mất đời đời.)
> So “lostness” in the Bible is simply being separated from God and heading to hell. (Cho nên định nghĩa của sự hư mất trong Kinh Thánh là bị phân rẽ khỏi sự hiện diện và mối liên hệ với Đấng Tạo Hóa và trên con đường dẫn đến địa ngục.)
> We all just go about on this earth, then one day we will all die and perish eternally, even the most powerful man on earth, unless… God finds us and brings us home. (Loài người c/ta ai nấy chỉ “đi lại” trên trái đất này, nhưng để rồi một ngày phải chết và hư mất đời đời, ngoại trừ nếu chính Đức Chúa Trời tìm kiếm và đem c/ta trở về lại nhà của Ngài.)
> The Bible said God did initiate a rescue mission to find us because He is a God of love, and because we are lost and cannot find a way home. (Kinh Thánh cho biết Chúa đã tự ý làm điều này, tìm kiếm và cứu mỗi c/ta, vì Ngài là Đấng yêu thương và bởi vì c/ta không có khả năng để tự tìm đường về nước thiên đàng được.)
> That rescue mission costed God His own Son to come into this world as a human liked each of us, to die making payment for our sins and to bring us home. (Chương trình cứu rỗi đó của Chúa là Ngài phải hy sinh chính Con một của mình đến thế gian, trở nên con người, chết trên cây thập tự để chuộc tội cho c/ta và dẫn mọi kẻ tin trở về nhà Cha.)
> That’s why when Jesus came – he once said: “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners,” saving the lost to bring them home to the Father. (Vì đó mà khi Cứu Chúa Giê-xu đến Ngài đã một lần nói: “Vì Ta đến đây không phải để kêu kẻ công bình, song kêu kẻ có tội,” cứu tội nhân.)
III. The Parable
> The whole focus of the Bible is about God’s rescue mission of mankind back to Himself. (Trung tâm điểm của cả Kinh Thánh luôn là nói đến chương trình cứu rỗi nhân loại của Đức Chúa Trời.)
> God is always in the business of finding lost things; He has a passion finding lost sinners that used to belong to Him. (Công việc Chúa luôn là tìm kiếm những kẻ hư mất, tội nhân lạc lối, mà đã một lần thuộc của chính Ngài.)
> The whole purpose of Christ coming into the world is to fulfill that rescue mission that Father sent Him to do. (Chủ đích Chúa Giê-xu đến thế gian không chỉ ngoài mục đích thi hành trọn công tác cứu chuộc này mà Chúa Cha đã sai.)
> In many of Jesus’ parrables, He illustrated our lostness condition and God’s plan of salvation to save us. (Khi còn sống trên đất, chính Chúa Giê-xu đã dùng nhiều ẩn dụ để dạy dỗ cho mọi người hiểu tình trạng hư mất của nhân loại, và chương trình cứu chuộc của Đức Chúa Trời cho mỗi người c/ta.)
> In the Luke Gospel, chapter 15, there are three parables about this rescue mission. (Trong sách Tin Lành Luca, đoạn 15, có đến 3 ẩn dụ nói về chương trình cứu chuộc này.)
> First, why dis Jesus often teach in parables? (Tại sao Chúa Giê-xu thường hay dạy dỗ bằng cách dùng qua những ẩn dụ?)
# A parable is an ordinary life event, pointing to a heavenly meaning, and most of the times that heavenly meaning points to God’s eternal kingdom. (Ẩn dụ là những tình cảnh thông thường trong cuộc sống dùng để ám chỉ ý nghĩa thuộc linh, và hầu hết những ý đó luôn nhắm về nước thiên đàng.)
> Because the parables are usually in the form of “personification,” so to understand the parables, we first must understand what are the people and things in the parables representing. (Vì những ẩn dụ thường dùng lối nhân cách hóa, cho nên muốn hiểu ẩn dụ c/ta phải thấy những nhân vật hay vật trong ẩn dụ biểu hiệu cho gì và cho những ai.)
> This morning we focus on the short parable of a woman who lost a silver coin. (Sáng nay, c/ta chỉ chú tâm đến ẩn dụ của một người đàn bà đánh mất một đồng bạc.)
a) What does the woman have? Ten silver coins are all belong to her. She owns all 10. They are not belong to her neighbors or borrowed from someone. (Người đàn bà này có gì? Bà có 10 đồng bạc, tất cả đều thuộc của người, chứ không phải thuộc của người hàng xóm hay là số bạc của người khác cho bà vay mượn, giữ dùm.)
b) Are all ten silver coins valuable to her equally? (Có phải cả 10 đồng bạc đều có gía trị như nhau không?)
# Yes. Each of the coins is her possesion that she has been worked for, and saved. (Đúng! mỗi đồng bạc là gia tài quí báu của bà mà bà đã làm lụng và dành dụm nhiều năm trong cuộc đời.)
c) Why didn’t she make an excuse that she still has 9 coins left and not to worry about finding the lost coin? (Tại sao người đàn bà này không lấy lý do mình đánh mất chỉ có một đồng thôi, nhưng còn 9 đồng kia, như vậy cần gì mắc công đi tìm nó?)
# Because the lost coin has the same value as the other nine; the lost coin belongs to her just liked the other nine. (Không được, là vì đồng bạc mất thuộc của người, và có gía trị ngang bằng với 9 đồng kia.)
d) What did the woman do to find the lost coin? (Người đàn bà này đã làm gì để tìm đồng bạc mất?)
# She lights up the lamp and search carefully the whole house: under the beds, in the dark closets, in her pockets, under the sofas, may be even in the trash cans… for the lost coin until she finds it. (Bà thắp đèn sáng lên, tìm khắp chỗ khắp nơi trong nhà của mình: dưới gầm giường, trong tủ tối, trong những tuí áo mình, dưới ghế salông, kể cả trong thùng rác… cho đến khi tìm được.)
a) So who does the woman represent in this parable? (Như vậy người đàn bà trong ẩn dụ này biểu hiệu cho ai?)
# God, the One Who created the heavens, earth and mankind – all belong to Him. God has the Ownership of everything that He created. (Đức Chúa Trời, Đấng Tạo Hóa đã dựng nên muôn loài; Ngài làm Chủ mọi vật và mọi vật đều thuộc của Ngài.)
b) Who do the ten coins represent in the parable? (10 đồng bạc biểu hiệu cho ai?)
# All people, all races that God wants to be saved and all to live eternally with Him in His kingdom of heaven. (Chính là thế gian, mọi người, mọi dân tộc, mỗi linh hồn mà đã được Chúa dựng nên giống hình ảnh của Ngài, mà Chúa muốn được ở trong nước thiên đàng của Ngài đời đời.)
c) Who does the lost coin represent? (Còn đồng bạc mất biểu hiệu cho ai đây?)
# The lost coin represents all sinners that God still wants to save and bring them home. (Đồng bạc mất chính là những kẻ tội nhân chưa được cứu mà Chúa vẫn muốn tìm kiếm đem trở về nhà mình.)
> People can be lost in many different ways: (Con người thật ra có thể hư mất lạc loài qua nhiều lối.)
1) Liked the Pharisees and teachers of the Law in Jesus’s time, they were lost in the religious boasting of keeping the laws and rules, but they were blind and unaware of the Savior Jesus Who God sent. (Giống như những người Pharasi hay nhà thông thái giáo ngày xưa, họ hãnh diện với “đạo cao đức dày” của mình, thi hành những nghi lễ thánh, nhưng lại mù quáng không nhận biết và tin nhận Đấng Cứu Thế ngay trước mắt mình.)
# Today, some people can be found sitting in church on Sunday morning after Sunday morning, but when looking inside their heart, they are really lost, having full of religions, going through the routine emotions of shouting and jumping, but no true relationship with Jesus Christ. (Ngày nay cũng chẳng khác chi, vô số người có thể đi nhà thờ, ngồi ở những bục ghế mỗi Chúa Nhật, làm trọn những nghi lễ thờ phượng, nhưng bên trong lòng chưa thật sự kinh nghiệm mối liên hệ với Chúa vì chỉ có tôn giáo làm cho có lệ mà thôi.)
> Just liked the coin get lost in the house, we can get lost in God’s house that we don’t even know it. (Giống như đồng bạc mất, thất lạc ngay trong chính nhà của chủ nó, thì c/ta cũng có thể bị thất lạc trong chính ngôi đền thờ của Chúa mà không biết.)
2) Many can be lost in their busy life schedules of jobs and pleasures. (C/ta có thể bị thất lạc ở giữa sự bận rộn và những thú vui của đời này.)
# Many today are so busy with working, building, buying, making investments, savings, playing, watching, exercising, drinking, texting, eating, partying… that they don’t even care what their future holds. (Biết bao nhiêu người đang bận rộn trong việc làm, xây cất, sắm sửa, đầu tư, để dành, chơi đùa, texting, ăn uống, vui chơi… và không cần biết tương lai mình sẽ đi về đâu.)
> They miss the opportunity to hear the Good News, to be saved and secured their eternal destiny with God. (Họ đánh mất nhiều cơ hội được nghe đến tin lành của Chúa để được cứu rỗi và có sự bảo đảm cho định mệnh đời đời của mình trong nước thiên đàng.)
3) Others can be lost in their wealth and luxury. (Những người khác thì bị hư mất trong sự giàu sang và sung sướng.)
# A picture of a sheep that finds a green pasture. It rejoices, then it lays down and eats, and eats, and eats its way out into the darkness. (Hình ảnh một con chiên tìm được một đồng cỏ xanh tươi. Nó mừng lắm, bắt đầu nằm xuống ăn, cứ ăn, mãi mê ăn cho đến tối khuya.)
> Until the sheep looks up and discovers that it is alone in the dark and its lostness, doesn’t know the way to get home. (Cho đến khi nó thức dậy thì trời đã tối, chỉ một mình trong sự lạc lối không biết đường về và các thú dữ đang rình mò để ăn thịt nó.)
> Many people live their life as in a castle with thousand luxurious rooms, each room is filled with suprises and pleasures, they go through these rooms days by days, but then one day, they find that all of them is just full of emptiness, no meaning. (Biết bao nhiêu người sống giống như trong một tòa lâu đài có nhiêu phòng, mỗi phòng là sự trưng diện đẹp đẽ nguy nga của những thú vui sung sướng để họ thử mỗi ngày; nhưng rồi một ngày họ nhận biết mọi sự là hư không, chỉ là những khoãng trống của tâm hồn.)
# Just liked the famous singer Elvis Presley – the king of Rock & Roll, he became famous with wealth and fame, but one day found life was so empty and killed himself at the age of 42. (Giống như ca sĩ nổi tiếng, vua của nhạc kích động Elvis Presley, là người rất nổi tiếng và giàu có, nhưng rồi một ngày không tìm thấy ý nghĩa cho cuộc sống nữa mà tự sát lúc mới có 42 tuổi.)
4) Some can be lost in their worries, failures, griefs, addictions, stresses and even an unforgiving heart. (Một số người klhác có thể thất lạc trong những lo lắng, thất bại của quá khứ đau thương, đau khổ, nghiện ngập, hay kể cả một tấm lòng hận thù không tha thứ.)
> Their life gets locked into a room with no light, no windows and no door to get out. (Cuộc sống họ như bị giam vào một căn phòng không có ánh sáng, không có cửa sổ, cũng không có cánh cửa nào để thoát ra.)
# It’s true when someone said: “we don’t live a full 365-day year; because many days we are bound in prison of lostness without a way to escape. (Thậy đúng như có người nói: “Nhiều người không sống trọn 365 ngày mỗi năm. Lý do là vì c/ta đã để biết bao nhiêu ngày bị giam cầm trong sự lầm lạc này, không tìm ra lối thoát.)
> Yes, we all are lost in many different ways, and we all need to be found; we all need to come home. (Đúng lắm. Mỗi người c/ta ai nấy đều thất lạc trong nhiều cách; c/ta cần được tìm kiếm; hết thảy cần được trở về nhà Cha của mình.)
> What did God need to find the lost mankind, you and me, the lost coin? (ĐCT cần gì để tìm kiếm loài người lạc lối, chính tôi và bạn?)
# Just as the woman needs a lamp to shine “light” in dark places where the lost coin may be found; God needs to send His Son into this dark world to save all sinners. (Giống như người đàn bà cần đèn để chiếu ánh sáng vào những chỗ tối tăm mà đồng bạc có thể đánh mất ở đó, thì Chúa cũng cần Con Ngài đến thế gian đen tối đầy quyền lực của ma quỉ này để mà cứu mọi tội nhân.)
# When Jesus came, He once claimed about Himself – “I am the light of the world,” the light shines in this dark world so sinners can see the way to come back home with the Father. (Khi Chúa Giê-xu đến Ngài cũng đã một lần tuyên bố về mình như sau: “Ta là sự Sáng của thế gian,” chiếu trong thế giới đen tối này để tất cả những tội nhân thấy được con đường trở về nhà Cha thiên thượng.)
> Living in this world under the power of death, no one can find the way out of death; the only desperated thing we can do is just waiting for death to call us one by one. (Sống trong một thế giới đầy quyền lực của sự chết, không ai tìm được lối thoát; mỗi người chỉ thất vọng sống và chờ đợi tử thần gọi tên mình mà thôi.)
# The famous philosopher Pascal once compared the world is liked “a huge and dark room.” In there, people are elbowed, husseled, pussing each others in the dark trying to find a door to get out. (Giống như nhà triết gia Pascal đã một lần so sánh nhân laọi giống như một đám đông người sống trong một căn phòng rất lớn và tối như mực. Mọi người ai nấy mò mẫm, chen lấn, xô đẩy nhau để tìm lối thoát đi ra, nhưng chẳng được.)
> Only Jesus has the door to rescue us out of the darkness, and He is the only door to bring us home in the presence of God. (Chỉ có Chúa Giê-xu là Đấng duy nhất đến từ Trời mới có cánh cửa cứu c/ta ra khỏi sự tối tăm và dẫn c/ta trở lại với ĐCT.)
> How do we know that only Jesus has the door and He is the door? (Làm sao biết chỉ có một mình Chúa Giê-xu có cánh cửa này?)
# Because Jesus is the only One Who overcame death, He was raised to life after 3 days laid in the tomb. (Lý do đơn giản vì chỉ một mình Ngài đã sống lại từ cõi chết sau 3 ngày.)
# Jesus is the only One proclaimed in Revelation 1:17b-18 – “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.” (Chính Chúa Giê-xu là Đấng duy nhất đã phán một lời trong Khải Huyền 1:17b-18, mà chẳng một gíao chủ nào đã dám phán: “… Đừng sợ chi, ta là Đấng trước hết và là Đấng sau cùng, 18 là Đấng Sống, ta đã chết, kìa nay ta sống đời đời, cầm chìa khóa của sự chết và âm phủ.”)
> In this parable, we also see that God’s will is that He doesn’t want any to perish, but He wants all to be saved, even one lost coin, even the last sinner. (Ẩn dụ này cũng dạy c/ta thấy ý Chúa là không muốn 1 ai bị hư mất, nhưng mọi người ăn năn mà quay trở về cùng Ngài để được cứu, kể cả một kẻ tội nhân cuối cùng.)
> Therefore, Jesus after He went back to heaven, commanded the church to go everywhere, even to the end of the world, to sweep everywhere in the house, to search every streets, to reach every nations, to preach the Gospel, to share the goodnews, until the last “lost coin” can be saved before the judgment comes. (Vì vậy mà sau khi làm xong công cuộc chuộc tội, Chúa Giê-xu thăng thiên về trời và trao cho Hội Thánh một đại sứ mệnh đó là phải đi khắp nơi, mọi nước, giảng tin lành để nhiều người được cứu trước ngày tận thế.)
IV. Heaven Rejoices
> What happens after the woman found her lost silver coin in the parable? (Chuyện gì xảy ra sau khi người đàn bà tìm được đồng bạc mất?)
# She calls her neighbors and friends to come and celebrate with her. (Bà gọi các người hàng xóm và bạn bè đến cùng chung vui với mình, vì đã kiếm ra đồng bạc mất.)
> What does this parable of Jesus teach about the joy of God? (Ẩn dụ này dạy c/ta gì về niềm vui của ĐCT?)
# Last week – how to make moms happy? Today, how to make God happy? (Tuần trước c/ta nghe bài giảng với chủ đề “Làm vui lòng Mẹ,” tuần này c/ta nghe bài giảng thế nào làm vui lòng Chúa.)
> God rejoices when a lost person is found; He opens a party in heaven with His angels are dancing and celebrating when sinners coming home; even just one of them. (ĐCT vui mừng siết kể khi một kẻ hư mất thất lạc trở về; Ngài mở hội lớn ăn mừng trên thiên đàng với các thiên sứ của mình nhẩy múa, cho dù chỉ có một tội nhân ăn năn mà thôi.)
# God loves sinners even more then we love our children and grand kids; He was even willing to sacrifice His one and only Son to save just one sinner liked us. (Chúa yêu thương nhân loại hơn c/ta yêu con cái mình; Ngài sẵn sàng hy sinh Con một của mình để cứu c/ta, cho dù chỉ nếu một mình bạn là tội nhân.)
> God loves you. He doesn’t want you to perish eternally in the lake of fire. (Chúa yêu thương bạn. Ngài không muốn bạn bị hư mất đời đời trong hồ lửa.)
> God wants all of us to come home and enjoys His heaven forever. (Chúa muốn bạn quay trở về, hưởng nước thiên đàng của Ngài đời đời.)
> Are you going to come home and be safe? (Bạn có sẽ bằng lòng quay trở về không mà tìm được sự an toàn, bình an và vui mừng thật?)
# A story about a prodigal daughter she left home to pursue after all kinds of pleasures in this world. (Câu chuyện về một người mẹ có cô con gái hư hỏng bỏ nhà ra đi, sống trụy lạc, ăn chơi phóng túng, rượu chè và hút sách.)
> Life is hard. She faces life hardship and so many times she wants to come home, but she is afraid that her mom will not accept her back. (Nhiều năm chơi bời, đối diện với những hoàn cảnh đau thương hất hỉu trong cuộc đời và nhiều lần cô gái muốn quay trở về nhà, nhưng không dám vì sợ người mẹ sẽ chỉ đuổi mình đi nữa.)
> Until one night she decides to come home, but dares to knock on the back door of the house, only wishing that she can just sit there and may be in the morning when her mom opens the door will see her and talks to her. (Đến một đêm kia, cô quyết định quay trở về đi vào cửa sau, nhưng không dám gõ, chỉ ngồi đợi và tự nghĩ rằng ngày mai mẹ đi ra đằng sau, mở cửa sẽ thấy và nói chuyện với mình.)
> When she leans over the door, to her surprise that the door is not locked; it opens up. (Nhưng ngạc nhiên thay khi cô đứng dựa vào cánh cửa thì cửa không có khoá và nó bật mở ra.)
> Her mother hears the noise, walks to the back, sees her daughter; she is so rejoiced, embraces her with tears and said: (Bà mẹ nghe tiếng động, ra sau xem, thấy con mình thì bà ôm choàng lấy, nước mắt tuôn tràn và nói:)
> “Since the day you left, I have missed you so much. Even just one little noise, it can make me waking up and thinking that you come home. The back door has not been locked for many years, hoping that if you will come home one day, that you can come in and always welcome in this house.” (“Từ ngày con bỏ nhà ra đi, mẹ thương nhớ con không ngủ được. Mỗi tiếng động nhỏ là cũng làm cho mẹ thức giấc, trông ngóng con trở về. Cái cửa sau mấy năm nay rồi không có khóa, chỉ khép lại thôi, vì mẹ mong khi con trở về bất cứ khi nào cũng có thể vào nhà được.”)
> God is waiting for you to come home with Him today? (Chúa đang giang tay đợi bạn trở về nhà Cha.)

> The world population today is estimated to be 7.4 billion.
> The best estimate of this 7.4 billion is that about 2.1 billion people claim to be Christians.
> This means at leats 5.3 billion people are still lost, living under the judgment of the eternal death.
> If Jesus comes back today, where will they spend in eternity?
> But the more tragic is that many of them are lost and don’t even know it.
> The Bible said: God so loves the world, lost sinners that He gave His Son to come into this world to rescue them, because everyone of them belongs to Him, created in His own image.
> God wants everyone to come home where they can enjoy His heavenly kingdom forever, and live for the full purpose why God created mankind in the first place.
> When a sinner come home, God rejoices, heaven rejoices with angels are dancing, even one sinner to come home.
> Nothing that can give God more satisfaction than when a sinner coming home - Home to peace,
home to forgiveness, and home to wholeness and purpose.
> Are you lost? Do you know that you are living outside of this will of God?
> Are you coming home?
# Jesus opens His arms wide to readily receive you home – are you willing to come to Him?
> Just pray: “God, I am lost because I didn’t know that You created me. I am lost because I never knew where I am going to spend eternity.
> Until today, your truth reveals to me through the word that You loves me so much that You sent your Son Jesus to come to this worls to find me, to rescue me, and to bring me home to you.
> Your Son, Jesus died on the cross for all my sins.
> He prepares me completely clean so I can come home with You and to enjoy the eternal life in Your heavely kingdom.
> This is my destiny. This is the final purpose for what I am created in Your image for.
> Today, I repent my sins and obey your word by placing my trust in Jesus Christ, Your Son as my Lord and Savior.
> Please let your Spirit guides me from this day on to live a new life, experiencing your peace and love, and to know You and Your will for my life more each day.”
Heaven Rejoices
Luke 15:8-10
“Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
Have you lost anything that was very valuable to you? What did you do to find it? Were you procrastinated? What about your soul? Do you recognize your spiritual lostness? If you said you are not lost, let me ask you 2 basic questions: Where were you come from? And where will you go into eternity? If you cannot answer these two basic questions about the origin and eternity then mankind is really lost… and we all need to be found.
To be found, we must not just accept our lostness condition, but we must also recognize that there is a great Creator, Who created everything in the beginning. Everything starts from God, begins with God. And because God loves us, He created mankind in His own image from the beginning. But the first two persons, Adam & Eve sinned, they were separated from God, casted out of the garden and the whole human race got lost from that time. So “lostness” in the Bible is simply being separated from God and heading to hell. We all just go about on this earth, then one day we will all die and perish eternally, even the most powerful man on earth, unless… God finds us and brings us home. The Bible said God did initiate a rescue mission to find us because He is a God of love and because we are lost and cannot find a way home. That rescue mission costs God His own Son to come into this world as a human liked each of us, to die making payment for our sins and to bring us home. The whole focus of the Bible is about God’s rescue mission of mankind back to Himself. The whole purpose of Christ coming into the world is to fulfill that rescue mission that Father sent Him to do.
In many of Jesus’ parables, He illustrated our lostness condition and God’s plan of salvation to save us. This morning we focus on the short parable of a woman who lost a silver coin. What does the woman have? Ten silver coins are all belong to her. Are all ten silver coins valuable to her equally? Yes. Each of the coins is her possession that she has been worked for, and saved. Why didn’t she make an excuse that she still has 9 coins left and not to worry about finding the lost coin? Because the lost coin belongs to her just liked the other nine. What did the woman do to find the lost coin? She lights up the lamp and search carefully the whole house: under the beds, in the dark closets, under the sofas, may be even in the trash cans… for the lost coin until she finds it. So who does the woman represent in this parable? God, the One Who created the heavens, earth and mankind – all belong to Him. God has the Ownership of everything that He created. Who do the ten coins represent in the parable? All people, all races that God wants to be saved and all to live eternally with Him in His kingdom of heaven. Who does the lost coin represent? The lost coin represents all sinners that God still wants to save and bring them home. People can be lost in many different ways: 1) Like the Pharisees and teachers of the Law in Jesus’ time, they were lost in the religious boasting of keeping the laws and rules, but they were blind and unaware of the Savior Jesus Who God sent. Today, some people can be found sitting in church on Sunday morning after Sunday morning, but when looking inside their heart, they are really lost, having full of religions, but no true relationship with Jesus Christ. Just liked the coin get lost in the house, we can get lost in God’s house that we don’t even know it. 2) Many can be lost in their busy life schedules of jobs and pleasures. Many today are so busy with working, building, buying, making investments, savings, playing, watching, exercising, drinking, texting, eating, partying… that they don’t even care what their future holds. They miss the opportunity to hear the Good News, to be saved and secured their eternal destiny with God. 3) Others can be lost in their wealth and luxury. A picture of a sheep that finds a green pasture. It rejoices, and then it lies down and eats, and eats, and eats its way out into the darkness. Until the sheep looks up and discovers that it is alone in the dark and its lostness, doesn’t know the way to get home. 4) Some can be lost in their worries, failures, grief, addictions, and stresses. Their life gets locked into a room with no light, no windows and no door to get out. We all are lost in many different ways, and we all need to be found; we all need to come home. What did God need to find the lost mankind, you and me, the lost coin? Just as the woman needs a lamp to shine “light” in dark places where the lost coin may be found; God needs to send His Son into this dark world to save all sinners. Living in this world under the power of death, no one can find the way out of death; the only desperate thing we can do is just waiting for death to call us one by one. Only Jesus is the way to rescue us out of the darkness, and bring us home in the presence of God. How do we know that only Jesus has the door and He is the door? Because Jesus is the only One Who overcame death, He was raised to life after 3 days in the tomb.
What happens after the woman found her lost silver coin in the parable? She calls her neighbors and friends to come and celebrate with her. What does this parable of Jesus teach about the joy of God? God rejoices when a lost person is found; He opens a party in heaven with His angels are dancing and celebrating when sinners coming home; even just one of them. God loves you. He doesn’t want you to perish eternally in the lake of fire. God wants all of us to come home and enjoys His heaven forever. Are you going to come home with God and be safe? Are you going to repent of your sins and trust in His Son Jesus?
