Halloween: Trick or Truth?

[ English | Vietnamese ]

Christians don't need to be afraid of the devil's tricks because Christ has overcome him. (with prayer)

Remember when one of your friends sneaked up behind you when you weren't looking and yelled, "Boo!" You nearly jumped out of your skin! For just a moment you were scared. Then you laughed when you saw who it was.

But it isn't always fun to be afraid. A long time ago some people used to really be afraid of ghosts and goblins who they believed were roaming around on Halloween night. They were afraid because they didn't have Jesus to protect them from Satan and his tricks. They didn't know the truth.

Are you ever afraid of things? Sometimes I am. And when I am, I remember that Jesus told His friends to not be afraid because He had overcome the world. That means that Jesus is stronger than anything in the whole wide world.

The Bible says Jesus Christ is God's Son who came to die on the Cross and take the punishment you and I deserve for the bad things that we have done.

But he didn't stay dead. He is so powerful that three days later God brought Him back to life.

The Bible says, "God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

Have you ever asked Jesus to be your Savior? If you believe that He died for you and came back to life you can pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I have done wrong things. Thank you for taking the punishment for me. I invite You to come into my life and take my sins away."

When you know Jesus, you don't have to be afraid of the bad things around you. He is stronger than anything that you will ever face. And when you trust Him, He promises, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5).
