(The Way that Leads to Eternal Life)

No one comes to the Father except through Me.)
I. GPS System
We are living in the time of advances in technologies. (chúng ta đang sống trong một thời điểm kỹ thuật văn minh đang đến mức tột đỉnh). The time that I believe in the book of Daniel 12:4 more than 2,500 years ago already mentioned about it – (But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.) (Thời điểm này đã được nói trước trong sách tiên tri Đaniên cách chúng ta hơn 2,500 năm – “Còn như ngươi, hỡi Đa-ni-ên, ngươi hãy đóng lại những lời nầy, và hãy đóng ấn sách nầy cho đến kỳ cuối cùng. Nhiều kẻ sẽ đi qua đi lại, và sự học thức sẽ được thêm lên.” The greatest and most advanced technology in our time for sure is in the area of the computer communication networks through Internet, Iphone, Facebook via satellite system. (ngày hôm nay kỹ thuật tân tiến nhất đó là hệ thống liên lạc thông tin bằng các máy điện tử qua Internet…) One of the new technologies that helps our life a lot is the GPS system. (một trong những kỹ thuật tối tân đang giúp ích rất nhiều cho cuộc sống con người chúng ta là hệ thống GPS). GPS, called the Global Positioning System is a space-based satellite navigation system, that provides location and time information in all weather conditions, anywhere on or near the Earth. (GPS là hệ thống hướng dẫn đường đi, bằng cách xử dụng những vệ tinh nhân tạo để định mọi vị trí ở trên quả địa cầu). With GPS, there is no more getting lost when we are looking for a location, because GPS can guide us each step, each turn, and each way on how to get there; Even if we get lost, it will re-direct us back to the right path. (Với máy GPS, chúng ta không còn sợ bị đi lạc đường nữa, vì máy này hướng dẫn chi tiết, mỗi chỗ quẹo, mỗi lối đi cho chúng ta, kể cả khi chúng ta bị đi lạc đường). The GPS today is even more amazing, because it has a feature to show us the traffic condition ahead, so that we can reroute our ways to avoid getting stuck in traffic. Why do we need such technology? Here are some basic facts: (Tại sao chúng ta cần những kỹ thuật văn minh này)
1) Because life has many roads, that we have to choose to go, and with the GPS, it can guide us the right paths to safely reach our desired destination. (bởi vì trong cuộc sống hằng ngày chúng ta có nhiều con đường phải chọn đi và máy GPS sẽ giúp hướng dẫn chúng ta những con đường đến chỗ mình muốn an toàn)
2) In order to use the GPS, we must know the location and enter the destination address (where we want to go) before it can provide us which roads we should take. (một điều kiện căn bản phải có để xử dụng máy GPS đó là bạn phải biết rõ mình muốn đi đâu, và đánh vào máy địa chỉ của điểm tới). Without knowing where to go, the GPS system is kind of useless for us.
3) We need GPS because there are some wrong roads that do not lead us to our desired destination. (chúng ta cần máy GPS để chúng ta tránh được những con đường khác dẫn chúng ta đi lạc mất). I am sure that all of us have gotten lost before, and at that time of frustration you wished that you had had a map or GPS to help.
What’s about the spiritual matter? What’s about eternity? How and where can we get some guidances on which roads we should take to prepare for it? (Nhưng còn vấn đề thuộc linh thì sao? Câu hỏi cho thế giới tương lai sau cái chết thì sao? Làm thế nào để chúng ta tìm được sự hướng dẫn và sửa soạn đi vào cõi đời đời đây?)
II. Is there Afterlife?
1) To answer this number one mysterious question, we should first ask ourselves a simple question – “Is there afterlife?” (muốn trả lời, điều trước tiên chúng ta phải tự hỏi một câu rất đơn giản đó là có cõi đời sau không?). We all know that “birth and death” are the inseparable confines of all life on earth. No man would dispute that all men were born would die sooner or later. (Ai trong chúng ta cũng ý thức, sự sống và sự chết đóng khung cuộc đời của con người. Ai sống rồi cũng sẽ chết không sớm thì muộn). But after death, is there another life? If yes, then what does that afterlife look like? (Nhưng sau cái chết có còn gì nữa không, nếu có thì sự sống đó như thế nào?) How can I know? How can I get there? What “GPS” system that can help guiding me to know which way to go? What roads I have to avoid that may lead me to wrong turns and get lost? (làm sao tôi biết được? làm sao tôi đến và được ở một chỗ an toàn đời đời? Có hệ thống “GPS” nào có thể giúp chỉ đường cho tôi không, để tránh cho tôi đi đến những chỗ mình không muốn?). Some people believe that after death, we will all be vanished into an empty space. (một số người tự nghĩ chết là hết, con người sẽ đi vào cõi hư không). But our conscience seems to say that there is “something” beyond this life, waiting for us because of the following facts: (nhưng lương tâm của chúng ta hình như cho thấy có một điều gì huyền bí nữa đang chờ đợi chúng ta sau cái chết?)
a) Everyone recognizes that we are created higher, wiser than all other kinds. Humans can think, discern, and meditate on the abstracts, and spiritual matters that no other kinds can. (Lý do chúng ta có sự suy đoán về cõi đời đời là vì chúng ta nhận thức con người là loài giống được dựng nên cách đặc biệt cao hơn mọi loài khác. Con người chúng ta có trí khôn, sự suy nghĩ về những điều trừu tượng và huyền bí mà không có một loài nào khác có như vậy).
b) We have conscience to ask and to look for an answer of the afterlife. (chúng ta có lương tâm suy nghĩ về cõi đời đời và muốn tìm câu trả lời cho nó).
c) We long for a perfect world, that has no more pain and suffering. (chúng ta ai cũng mong mỏi muốn tìm một thế giới toàn hảo, không còn những đau đớn, bất công và khổ sở nữa). Is it fair for those who shot the innocents in cold blood in Paris go free? No, we want justice to find and protect peace.
2) So, “Is there afterlife?” (Như vậy câu hỏi vẫn là “Có cõi đời sau không?”). In a common sense, the answer for this mysterious question must come from the One Who created everything and gives life to all things; Only the great Creator Who created everything in the beginning would have the answer for the eternity. (Theo lẽ tự nhiên, câu trả lời của câu hỏi huyền bí này chỉ có thể trả lời được bởi Đấng đã đựng nên muôn loài và ban cho sự sống từ lúc ban đầu thì mới biết rõ tương lai đời đời sẽ ra như thế nào). This requires a basic faith to believe that the Bible is the words from the One Who created all things, that has the answer for the afterlife. (điều này đòi hỏi mỗi chúng ta phải có một niềm tin căn bản về Kinh Thánh là lời và lẽ thật đến từ Đấng đã dựng nên muôn loài thì chính Ngài mới biết rõ tương lai đời đời của con người chúng ta). In the Bible, the book of Genesis 1:1 helps us to know His name – (In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth.) (Trong Kinh Thánh STK 1:1 giúp chúng ta biết tên Ngài là ai “Ban đầu Đức Chúa Trời dựng nên trời đất.”). Without accepting the existing of a great Creator and Bible is His words, we cannot find the answer for the life after. (Nếu không chấp nhận Đấng Sáng Tạo hiện hữu và Kinh Thánh chính là lời của Ngài, chúng ta không thể trả lời câu hỏi về cõi đời đời). I believe the real issue is not whether there is afterlife, or is there a Creator, but the main issue is - do you believe the Bible is the words and truths from God, the Creator of all things? (vấn đề chính của niềm tin không phải là có cõi đời sau không; nhưng vấn đề là chúng ta có tin rằng Đấng Sáng Tạo đã bày tỏ lẽ thật về tương lai đời đời của loài người trong Kinh Thánh không?). So, with the technology of the GPS system, it guides our paths on where we want to go; with the Bible, it shows us the ways we should take into the afterlife and eternity. (Cho nên với hệ thống GPS, nó giúp chỉ đường cho người ta đi đến đúng chỗ trên quả địa cầu này; với Kinh Thánh, lời Chúa giúp chúng ta con đường dẫn đến cõi đời đời một cách an toàn)
III. Judgment after Death
1) According to the Bible, there is surely life after death, and then judgment. (theo như Kinh Thánh cho biết còn có cõi đời sau, bắt đầu bằng sự phán xét). Every single day, some 80,000 people die on earth. We don’t want to die; but we’re all going to. (Trung bình mỗi ngày có đến khoãng 80,000 người chết trên thế giới. Không ai trong chúng ta muốn chết, nhưng rồi mỗi người sẽ phải đối diện với nó mà thôi). In Hebrews 9:27 shows us the path after death – (It is appointed for men to die once and after this comes the judgment.) “Theo như đã định cho loài người phải chết một lần, rồi chịu phán xét.” Why do we die and then come judgment? (Tại sao c/ta chết và rồi theo sau là sự phán xét?)
a) The Bible helps us to know the “cause” of death is sin, in other words physical death is a consequence of sin. (Kinh thánh cho biết lý do gây ra sự chết chính là tội lỗi; hậu quả của tội lỗi là sự chết). In Genesis 3:19, the Bible says about the original of death was after Adam sinned – (By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.) (Trong STK 3:19 chép lại sự chết bắt đầu sau khi Ađam phạm tội và bị ĐCT rủa sả - “ngươi sẽ làm đổ mồ hôi trán mới có mà ăn, cho đến ngày nào ngươi trở về đất, là nơi mà có ngươi ra; vì ngươi là bụi, ngươi sẽ trở về bụi.” The way of disobedience that Adam chose in the garden of Eden was the reason of all men death, as the Bible Romans 5:12 declares “just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.” (Con đường không vâng lời mà Ađam đã chọn là lý do đem đến sự chết cho dòng dõi loài người, y như Kinh Thánh đã chép – “như bởi một người mà tội lỗi vào trong thế gian, lại bởi tội lỗi mà có sự chết, thì sự chết đã trải qua trên hết thảy mọi người như vậy, vì mọi người đều phạm tội.”). All men die physically, because they are the sons and daughters of Adam. (Mọi người chết là vì con cháu của Ađam). People do not ultimately die of cancer or heart problems, but the ultimate cause of death is sin. All people die of physical deaths because of Adam's original sin as the Bible says in Romans 6:23a – (The wages of sin is death.) (người ta chết là vì đủ thứ bệnh tật, nào là ung thư, đau tim, nhưng thật sự là do tội lỗi vì Kinh Thánh chép – “Vì tiền công của tội lỗi là sự chết”)
b) The Bible speaks of more than just the physical death “return to the ground, but also the spiritual death and eternal death. (Kinh thánh không chỉ nói đến sự chết thuộc thể “trở về đất,” nhưng còn nói đến sự chết thuộc linh và sự chết đời đời nữa). The spiritual death can be understood as the eternal separation from God, and there is no second chance to receive God’s grace or mercy. (sự chết thuộc linh có thể hiểu như là sự phân rẽ đời đời khỏi ĐCT mà một người sẽ không còn cơ hội lần thứ hai nữa để được cứu). The best parable from Jesus that can help us to see this separation is the parable of “The rich man and Lazarus” as recorded in Luke 16:19-31. (ẩn dụ hay nhất của Chúa Giê-xu để giúp chúng ta hiểu điều này là ẩn dụ “người giàu có và kẻ ăn mày Laxarơ). A rich man lived only for himself, he died and was sent to Hades, tormented day and night. (người giàu khi còn sống chỉ sống ích kỷ cho mình, người chết bị đem vào âm phủ chịu đau đớn ngày & đêm). The beggar named Lazarus, had faith in God, also died and was carried to Abraham’s bosom, symbolized of Paradise or heaven. (kẻ ăn mày Laxarơ tin cậy Chúa cũng chết và được đem vào lòng của Ápbraham, biểu hiệu cho nước thiên đàng). In Hades, the rich man requested Abraham two favors: (người giàu có trong âm phủ xin Ápbraham 2 điều):
1) To send Lazarus dip the tip of his finger in water and cool his tongue; for he was tormented in the flame. (Thứ nhất xin sai La-xa-rơ nhúng đầu ngón tay vào nước đặng làm cho mát lưỡi ông; vì ông bị khổ trong lửa nầy quá đỗi.). But Abraham answered in v. 26 - “between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’ (nhưng Áp-ra-ham trả lời rằng: Con ơi, hãy nhớ lại lúc ngươi còn sống đã được hưởng những sự lành của mình rồi, còn La-xa-rơ phải những sự dữ; bây giờ, nó ở đây được yên ủi, còn ngươi phải bị khổ hình – “Vả lại, có một vực sâu ở giữa chúng ta với ngươi, đến nỗi ai muốn từ đây qua đó không được, mà ai muốn từ đó qua đây cũng không được.”).
2) The rich man asked another favor that Abraham would send Lazarus back to his father’s house and tell his 5 brothers that hell is real; but Abraham said no, because they already had prophets, and preachers who told them the truths about the reality of hell and suffering. (người giàu xin Ápbraham cho Laxarơ trở về nói với 5 người anh em mình còn sống về địa ngục có thật để họ ăn năn, không bị xuống đó, nhưng Áp-ra-ham trả lời rằng: Chúng nó đã có Môi-se và các đấng tiên tri; chúng nó phải nghe lời các đấng ấy!). The moment a person dies physically, the soul departs the body and goes either into the presence of God, or into hades to await the final Day of Judgment. (kinh Thánh khẳng định sau khi một người chết, hồn lìa khỏi xác, một là ở với Chúa, hay hai là trong âm phủ chờ đợi ngày phán xét cuối cùng.) From that point on, no one can ever cross between heaven and hell. (Từ lúc đó không ai còn đi được qua lại từ địa ngục vào thiên đàng được nữa). No one in hell can ever have a second chance to receive God’s mercy and glory; and no one in heaven can help those in hell. It’s done! It’s an eternal separation. This is the spiritual death. (Không ai trong địa ngục còn được cơ hội lần thứ hai để được cứu nữa; mà không ai trong thiên đàng cũng có thể giúp đỡ một ai ở trong địa ngục hay trên trần gian này nữa, vì là sự chết thuộc linh, xa cách khỏi ĐCT đời đời).
c) What is the eternal death then? (Sự chết đời đời là gì?) The Bible points the eternal death to the eternal punishment in Hell. (Kinh Thánh diễn tả sự chết đời đời là sự trừng phạt đau đớn của một người trong địa ngục đời đời). In the Bible, Jesus says more than anyone else about Hell. (Trong Kinh Thánh, không có ai nói nhiều rõ về địa ngục bằng chính Chúa Giê-xu). In Matthew 10:28 – (And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.) “Đừng sợ kẻ giết thân thể mà không giết được linh hồn; nhưng thà sợ Đấng làm cho mất được linh hồn và thân thể trong địa ngục.” Hell is the place of destruction of both soul and body eternally. (Nơi phá hủy cả hồn lẫn xác của một người). In Matthew 13:40-42 – (The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, 42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.) “Còn người ta nhổ cỏ lùng mà đốt trong lửa thể nào, thì ngày tận thế cũng sẽ như vậy; 41 Con người sẽ sai các thiên sứ Ngài thâu mọi gương xấu và những kẻ làm ác khỏi nước Ngài, 42 và quăng những người đó vào lò lửa, là nơi sẽ có khóc lóc và nghiến răng.” Jesus refers to hell as a literal place and describes it in graphic terms, including raging fires and the worm (meaning the soul of people in hell) that doesn't die. (Chúa Giê-xu diễn tả địa ngục là chỗ có thật, trong đó có hồ lửa cháy không hề tắt và là nơi linh hồn sẽ hông đi vào cõi hư không, nhưng khóc lóc, đau đớn, và nghiến răng). Some people may ask what kind of God Who created hell? How could a good God ever be doing that? (Có người tự nghĩ nếu Chúa là Đấng tốt lành thì sao có địa ngục?)
i) The reason because their thinking, reasoning starts with their feelings, rather then truths from the words of God. (Lý do họ có sự thắc mắc đó là vì họ tự nghĩ theo cảm xúc của mình, thay vì theo lẽ thật trong lời Kinh Thánh của Chúa). In Psalm 7:11 declares the truth about God as - (God is a righteous judge, a God who expresses His wrath every day.) “Đức Chúa Trời là quan án công bình, Thật là Đức Chúa Trời hằng ngày nổi giận cùng kẻ ác.” The truth is that a good God is also holy, righteous, and just. (Đấng tốt lành còn là Đấng Thánh Khiết và công bình nữa).
ii) The truth is that God did not create hell for us, but we by our “free will” choose to go there. (Lẽ thật đó là ĐCT không có tạo nên địa ngục cho chúng ta; nhưng tự mỗi người đã tự chọn đi vào đó). Adam with his free will chose the way of disobedience; each of us chooses to not seeking God. (Ađam đã tự chọn theo ý mình không vâng lời; mỗi người c/ta tự chọn không một ai tìm kiếm Chúa). All have sinned because of our disobedience, and none of us deserve to be in heaven, so by default, there’s only one other place to go, and God doesn’t want any of us to end up there. (Mọi người đều đã phạm tội, không ai xứng đáng được ở trong nước thiên đàng; nếu không ở trong thiên đàng thì điều tự nhiên con người sẽ bị vào địa ngục là chỗ ĐCT không muốn một ai vào đó, vì chỉ dành riêng cho ma quỉ và satan mà thôi).
IV. The Way of the Cross
Our Creator is a good God, while Adam chose the way of disobedience, God chose the way of the cross, by sending His Son into the world to die for our sins. (Chúa là Đấng tốt lành, khi Ađam chọn con đường bất phục mà bị chết, thì ĐCT chọn con đường thập tự bằng cách sai Con một của mình đến thế gian chịu chết chi chúng ta). In Philippians 2:6-8 expresses Jesus’ mission of the cross – (Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!) (Sứ mệnh thập tự gía của Chúa Giê-xu có chép như sau – “Ngài vốn có hình Đức Chúa Trời, song chẳng coi sự bình đẳng mình với Đức Chúa Trời là sự nên nắm giữ; 7 chính Ngài đã tự bỏ mình đi, lấy hình tôi tớ và trở nên giống như loài người; 8 Ngài đã hiện ra như một người, tự hạ mình xuống, vâng phục cho đến chết, thậm chí chết trên cây thập tự.”). Jesus chose the way of obedience to provide salvation to mankind. (Chúa Giê-xu chọn con đường vâng phục để cung cấp sự cứu chuộc cho nhân loại). The cross where Jesus died is the power of salvation to those who believe. (Thập tự gía của Chúa Giê-xu là quyền năng để cứu tất cả những kẻ có tội mà tin). The cross is the pay-off with blood that satisfies completely the wrath of God and the penalty of our sins. (Thập tự gía thanh toán mọi món nợ tội lỗi của chúng ta và thỏa mãn sự thạnh nộ của ĐCT)
Because of Jesus’ death on the cross, all who believe can return to the three of life one day and enjoy God’s kingdom forever, called heaven. (Bởi sự chết của Chúa Giê-xu, nhưng kẻ tin một ngày sẽ được trở về cây sự sống và sống đời đời trong nước thiên đàng của ĐCT). In Genesis 3:22-24 reminds us what we lost from the beginning – (Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— 23 therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. 24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.) (Trong STK 3:22-24 nhắc chúng ta thấy con người đã đánh mất điều gì sau khi Ađam phạm tội – “Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời phán rằng: Nầy, về sự phân biệt điều thiện và điều ác, loài người đã thành một bực như chúng ta; vậy bây giờ, ta hãy coi chừng, e loài người giơ tay lên cũng hái trái cây sự sống mà ăn và được sống đời đời chăng. 23 Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời bèn đuổi loài người ra khỏi vườn Ê-đen đặng cày cấy đất, là nơi có người ra. 24 Vậy, Ngài đuổi loài người ra khỏi vườn, rồi đặt tại phía đông vườn Ê-đen các thần chê-ru-bin với gươm lưỡi chói lòa, để giữ con đường đi đến cây sự sống.” After Adam sinned, no one can experience the eternal life, because the way to the tree of life was blocked; But the way to the cross of Jesus opens the road back to tree of life, the eternal life with God. (Sau khi Ađam phạm tội, không một ai còn có thể sống đời đời được vì con đường dẫn đến cây sự sống ban cho quyền năng sức sống đời đời đã bị ngăn chận; nhưng sự chết của Chúa Giê-xu trên thập tự gía mở lại con đường đến cây sự sống, đến chính Ngài, để được sống đời đời trong nước thiên đàng). Heaven where the tree of life, is the cure for all our fears and suffering because Revelation 21:3-5 tells us so: (Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!") (Thiên đàng là nơi mọi sự đau đớn và khổ sở của chúng ta sẽ được cất đi như có chép trong Khải Huyền 21:3-5 – “Tôi nghe một tiếng lớn từ nơi ngai mà đến, nói rằng: nầy, đền tạm của Đức Chúa Trời ở giữa loài người! Ngài sẽ ở với chúng, và chúng sẽ làm dân Ngài; chính Đức Chúa Trời sẽ ở với chúng. 4 Ngài sẽ lau ráo hết nước mắt khỏi mắt chúng, sẽ không có sự chết ,cũng không có than khóc, kêu ca, hay là đau đớn nữa; vì những sự thứ nhất đã qua rồi. 5 Đấng ngự trên ngôi phán rằng: Nầy, ta làm mới lại hết thảy muôn vật.”)
After death, all believers will be raised to new body and enjoy the eternal life. (Sau cái chết, mọi kẻ tin sẽ sống lại với thân thể vinh hiển mới để sống đời đời). The same Spirit Who raised Jesus from the dead is in you; and so you can be certain that He will raise the Christians from the dead. (Cùng một Thần Linh đã làm Chúa Giê-xu sống lại ở trong mỗi kẻ tin; mà chúng ta có thể chắc chắn chính Ngài cũng sẽ làm cho chúng ta sống lại vinh hiển một ngày). Our present bodies are "mortal,” weak, corrupted, perishable, and dying; but the Holy Spirit will raise us from death with a new, incorrupted, non-perishabe bodies to enjoy God forever. (Thể xác tạm bợ này chóng qua, yếu đuối, hư mất, phai tàn, nhưng Đức Thánh Linh sẽ làm chúng ta sống lại với một thân thể mới, chẳng còn hư nát nữa để hưởng nước thiên đàng). When I die one day, laying there in a box, and the newspaper announced that I am dead. Don’t you believe a word of it! (Đừng bao giờ nghĩ là tôi đã chết rồi). At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now. (Chính khi đó mới là lúc tôi thật sống). I shall have gone up higher, that is all-out of this old clay body into a house that is immortal; a body that death cannot touch, that sin cannot taint, a body fashioned like unto Jesus’ glorious body. (Sống trong một thân thể mới, vinh hiển, mà sự chết không còn ảnh hưởng được và tội lỗi không làm nhem nữa). I was born of the flesh in 1959. I was born of the Spirit (sanh lại) in 1981. That which is born of the flesh (xác thịt) may die. That which is born of the Spirit will live forever.” (Based on D. L. Moody’s quote)
V. The Way to The Eternal Life
Adam chose the way of disobedience that leads to death. (Ađam chọn con đường bất phục dẫn đến sự chết). Jesus chose the way to the cross that opens the roads to the tree of life. (Chúa Giê-xu chọn thập tự để mở lại con đường dẫn đến cây sự sống). Each of us must choose the way to the eternal life by believing in Jesus Christ, Who is the only way and truth that leads to heaven. (mỗi người chúng ta phải chọn con đường dẫn đến sự sống đời đời bằng cách tin nhận Cứu Chúa Giê-xu). In John 10:28 Jesus promised – (I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.) “Ta ban cho nó sự sống đời đời; nó chẳng chết mất bao giờ, và chẳng ai cướp nó khỏi tay ta.” The only reason a person will ever go to hell is because he chooses NOT to go to heaven. (Một người chỉ đi vào địa ngục là vì họ đã tự chọn không muốn vào nước thiên đàng). God is a good God; He places Jesus in the midlle of our life path, and the only way a person goes to hell because he goes past Jesus and rejects His gift. (Chúa là Đấng tốt lành, Ngài đặt Chúa Giê-xu ở chính giữa con đường đời của mỗi chúng ta; chỉ có một cách một người vào địa ngục là vì họ đã đi tránh qua Chúa Giê-xu mà từ chối món quà cứu chuộc của Chúa ban cho). A few years back USA Today surveyed the Richest People in America and asked them what they would pay the most for? You would think the No. 1 choice for these wealthy Americans would’ve been things like beauty, intellect, power or even love, but the No. 1 desire for these rich people – was to have a place in heaven. The article said the rich would pay on the average $640,000 for the assurance of place in heaven. You cannot buy a place in heaven with your money, or even your own good works, the only way is by trusting the Lord Jesus, because it is a gift from God. We must choose the right path if we want to go to Heaven. Not all roads lead to Heaven. Only one does: Jesus Christ as He said in John 14:6 – (No one comes to the Father except through me) (chúng ta phải chọn đúng con đường vì không phải con đường nào cũng dẫn đến nước thiên đàng; chỉ có một mà thôi, chính Chúa Giê-xu như Ngài đã nói trong Giăng 14:6 - “chẳng bởi ta thì không ai được đến cùng Cha.”)
Tôi rất thích những câu chuyện về cuộc đời của nhà bác học Albert Einstein. (Stories about the physicist Albert Einstein). Người ta chép lại ngày xưa có lần nhà bác học vật lý nổi tiếng Albert Einstein đang đi trên một toa xe lửa (electric train going to the city of Princeton) đến thành phố Princeton. Khi người khám vé (ticket conductor) đi đến từng chỗ để bấm vé thì nhà bác học Albert bỗng nhiên tìm không ra cái vé của mình. Ông tìm trong các túi áo, trong dỏ sách (brief case) của mình… nhưng kiếm không ra. Người kiểm vé nhận ra (recognized) Mr. Einstein bèn nói với nhà bác học: “Dr. Albert, tôi biết ông là ai. Xin ông đừng lo, tôi biết chắc ông đã mua vé rồi,” (I know you Dr. Eisntein. Don’t worry, I am sure you already bought your ticket) rồi người khám vé bỏ đi qua toa tiếp (next box). Khi qua một toa khác nhìn lại, thì người khám vé vẫn thấy nhà bác học đang cặm cụi cúi xuống đất vẫn còn tìm tòi cái vé xe lửa của mình. Anh bèn trở lại và nói: “Dr. Albert! đừng lo lắng chi. Tôi biết ông là ai mà. Ông không cần tìm nữa, tôi biết ông đã mua vé rồi.” Nhà bác học ngước lên và nói: “Thưa Anh! Tôi biết tôi là ai và tôi cũng biết tôi đã mua vé xe lửa rồi, nhưng tôi không biết mình sẽ đi về đâu, xuống trạm xe lửa số mấy, nên tôi cần tìm cho ra cái vé của mình!” (I know who I am, I know that I already bought the ticket, but I need my ticket to know where I am going, which station I have to get off. And I must find my ticket.) Do you know where you are going after this life? (Bạn có biết rõ khi cuộc đời này kết thúc, mình sẽ đi về đâu đời đời không?) Are you sure that you will enter heaven? (Bạn có thể biết chắc mình trở về nước thiên đàng? Only if you choose Jesus Christ as your Savior (chỉ nếu bạn bằng lòng tin cậy vào Cứu Chúa Giê-xu là Đấng đã chết chuộc tội cho bạn và mở con đường cho bạn trở về với cây sự sống.)
Ngay hôm nay bạn sẽ có sự lựa chọn con đường nào? (Today, which road you will choose?) 1) Con đường bất phục sẽ dẫn đến hồ lửa địa ngục (the way of disobedience that leads to death), hay 2) con đường vâng phục dẫn đến sự sống đời đời? (the way of faith in Jesus to gain eternal life?). Bạn có sẽ tin nhận Cứu Chúa Giê-xu không hay cứ tiếp tục từ chối Ngài? (Will you trust Christ or reject Him today?) God already provides a way to the eternal life in Christ Jesus, you just need to walk on it, by receiving Him to be your Lord and Savior today. (Thành thật mời gọi bạn hãy đến và đặt đức tin của mình trong Cứu Chúa Giêsu là Con Đường, là Đạo duy nhất, ngoài Ngài ra không ai được trở về cây của sống và sống đời đời với Chúa. Đức Chúa Trời đã dọn sẵn con đường trong Cứu Chúa Giê-xu. Bạn chỉ cần quyết định đi trên con đường đó thôi mà sẽ dẫn bạn đến sự sống vĩnh cửu.) Just do it! (Hãy tin nhận Chúa Giê-xu ngay đi!)

Life has many roads; all roads have their destinations. Some roads can lead to wrong places where you do not want to go. You must know where you are going, or you end up where you don’t want to go. First asking yourself an important question: “Where will I spend eternity?” How do I know if there is afterlife and which roads should I take? The Bible is our GPS for the afterlife and eternity, simply because it is the words from God, the great Creator, Who gives life to all things. The Bible answers the question of why we have to die is because of Adam’s original sin. There is more than just the physical death when soul separates from the body, but also the spiritual and eternal deaths when an unbeliever will be eternally separated from God and his body and sould will be tormented in the lake of fire day and night. But while Adam chose the way of obedience that leads to death, God chose the way of the cross. Jesus chose the way of obedience to come and died on the cross to open the way back to the tree of life for us. The eternal life through Jesus Christ is a gift. God places Jesus in the middle of your path today. The only way a person goes to hell because he goes past Jesus and rejects His gift.
Before you there are 2 roads: the way of disobedience by rejecting God’s gift that leads to eternal death in hell; or the way of trusting in Jesus Chirst, God’s Son that leads to the eternal life. Which way you take will determine your eternity. (định số mệnh đời đời). Are you ready to die? If you have not trusted Jesus Christ then you have every reason to fear death, beginning on the final Day of Judgment. But if you are willing to trust Jesus Christ, then you do not need to fear death because God already dealt with all deaths for you in His Son Jesus on the cross.
Adam chose the way of disobedience. Jesus chose the way to the cross. Now you have to choose the way of faith in Jesus to gain the eternal life. Where you will spend your eternity can be decided today. Choose the way to the eternal life, by just believing Jesus today.
The Way that Leads to the Eternal Life
(John 14:6)
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Life has many roads and all roads have their destinations. You must know where you are going, or you end up where you don’t want to go. One of the new technologies that helps our life a lot is the GPS system. GPS, called the Global Positioning System is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather conditions, anywhere on or near the Earth. With GPS, there is no more getting lost when we are looking for a location, because GPS can guide us each step, and each turn on how to get to our desired destination. What’s about the spiritual matter? What’s about eternity? How can we get some guidance on which roads we should take to prepare for it?
To answer this mysterious question, we should first ask ourselves a simple question – “Is there afterlife?” We all know that “birth and death” are the inseparable confines of all life on earth. But after death, is there another life? If yes, then what does that afterlife look like? How can I know? How can I get there? What “GPS” system that can help guiding me to know which way to go so I don’t get lost?
In a common sense, the answer for this mysterious question must come from the One Who created everything in the beginning would have the answer for the eternity. This requires a basic faith to believe that the Bible is the words from the One Who created all things that has the answer for the afterlife. According to the Bible, there is surely life after death, and then judgment. Why do we die and then come judgment? The Bible helps us to know the “cause” of death is sin. The way of disobedience that Adam chose was the reason of all men death. The Bible speaks of more than just the physical death “return to the ground,” but also the spiritual death and eternal death. The spiritual death can be understood as the eternal separation from God. The moment a person dies physically, the soul departs the body and goes either into the presence of God, or into Hades to await the final Day of Judgment. From that point on, no one can ever cross between heaven and hell. No one in hell can ever have a second chance to receive God’s mercy and glory; and no one in heaven can help those in hell. It’s an eternal separation. What is the eternal death then? The Bible points the eternal death to the eternal punishment in Hell. Jesus refers to hell as a literal place and describes it in graphic terms, including raging fires and the worm (meaning the soul of people in hell) that doesn't die. The truth is that God did not create hell for us, but we by our “free will” choose to go there. All have sinned because of our disobedience, and none of us deserve to be in heaven, so by default, there’s only one other place to go, and God doesn’t want any of us to end up there.
But our Creator is a good God, while Adam chose the way of disobedience, God chose the way of the cross, by sending His Son into the world to die for our sins. The cross is the paid-off with blood that satisfies completely the wrath of God and the penalty of our sins. Because of Jesus’ death on the cross, all who believe can return to the tree of life one day and enjoy God’s kingdom forever, called heaven. Heaven is the cure for all our fears and suffering. After death, all believers will be raised to new body and enjoy the eternal life. Our present bodies are mortal, weak, corrupted, perishable, and dying; but the Holy Spirit will raise us from death with a new, incorrupted, non-perishable bodies to enjoy God forever.

God is a good God; He places Jesus in the middle of our life path, and the only way a person goes to hell because he goes past Jesus and rejects His gift. Not all roads lead to Heaven. Only one does - Jesus Christ.
Do you know where you are going after this life? Are you sure that you will enter heaven? Only if you choose Jesus Christ as your Savior. God already provides a way to the eternal life in Christ Jesus; you just need to walk on it, by receiving Him to be your Lord and Savior today. Just do it!
